Phone Manager - Changing sounds
Play Sounds Option
1. The Play Sounds option within Phone Manager plays various sound through the user's PC multimedia
setup to announce calls ringing and waiting.
2. The following wav files are used for the Play Sounds option.
3. They are located in the Phone Manager Application folder (c:\Program Files\Avaya\IP Office\Phone Manager).
4. These can be replaced with custom recordings as long as they are 16 bit mono wav file format.
• NewCall.wav: Ringing.
• Separate files NewCall_eng.wav and NewCall_enu.wav can be used to replace the file
with either UK or US ring tone respectively.
• NewCallWaiting.wav: Ringing.
• NewMessage.wav: “You have a new message” supplied in appropriate language variants.
• Ding.wav: Ding.
5. For example, if you want to have a personalized .wav file play on your PC when a call rings in instead of the standard “NewCall.wav” file, you will take your file of choice, rename it NewCall.wav, then take this file and copy it to the c:\Program Files\Avaya\IP Office\Phone Manager on your local machine.
6. You will be alerted that a file with this name already exists. Choose “Yes” to replace this file.
7. Restart or run phone manager. Have another extension call you to test.
8. Contact your System Administrator if you would like to have a button programmed on your telephone that will turn the ringer on your phone off.
