IP Office Overview
IP Office is a modular communications solution that scales from 2 to 360 users. It provides a hybrid PBX with both Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) and IP Phone support that can be used in either mode or both concurrently. IP Office has data capabilities built in, providing IP routing, switching and Firewall protection between LAN and WAN. IP Office has an integrated software applications suite that delivers a contact center, voice and email messaging, Interactive Voice Response, conferencing and computer telephony integration.
IP Office solutions are built from hardware units and application software. Hardware provides the connectivity for voice and data circuits and processor units for the solution software. Each IP Office solution will require a system processor unit (Small Office Edition, IP406, IP412 and IP Office 500), trunk connections to service provider, and expansion modules for TDM phone cabling. IP Phones connect over LAN connections to the IP Office solution.

Avaya IP Office 500
Avaya IP Office 500 is a modular, flexible design. The 4 universal slots house interface cards
(Digital stations and Analog devices), and each interface card can also support a 'daughter' card
(4 analog trunk and 2 or 4 port BRI), this design approach ensures cost effective, smooth
growth. IP Office 500 supports 2 to 272 users and up to 4 T1/E1 lines (96/120 channels), 32
ISDN BRI channels and 144 analog trunk lines are available. New to release 4.0 is SIP trunking
(Session Initiation Protocol). Customers can enjoy low-cost call services with up to 128
connections to Service Providers offering "SIP trunk services" (often including free site-to-site
calling). A new feature key, the 'Smart Card' fits securely inside the control unit, reducing the risk
of loss or damage. IP Office 500 provides up to 128 voice compression module (VCM) channels
available in 32 or 64 channel cards (four VCM channels are included). Additional VCM
capacity is easily extended by purchasing a license key.
The Legacy Carrier Card ensures existing IP Office users can painlessly migrate to the new
platform by re-using their existing trunk interfaces (Analog 4 port trunk, PRI/T1 24 expansion, and
PRI/T1 48 expansion).
